Guido De Bres

The times he lived in were of:
1) Persecution - the Reformed Christians were persecuted by the Church of Rom as they were looked upon as rebels.
2) Prosperity

Reformation in Holland - Church History Timeline
1530-1540 -> Anabaptists era (people who were very good Samaritans who lived simply)
1540-1550 -> John Calvin's era
1550-1566 -> Persecution started, where friends betrayed their Reformed friends to benefit from what the Spanish government promised
1566 -> The Wonder Year (the civil authorities gave much freedom to the Reformed Christians)
1567-1572 -> The civil authorities clamped down on the Reformed Christians again and persecution was stepped up

The goverment in his days comprises of:
1) 17 provinces (including what we know today as Belgium and Luxembourg)
2) Many layers in the government
3) Overall ruler was the King of Spain

Guido De Bres' life (in just 3 points):
1) He ministered alot, starting in 1545
2) He wrote the Belgic Confession of Faith
3) Due to much persecution in The Netherlands, he had to flee to England (the city of London), Germany (the city of Frankfurt), Switzerland (the cities of Lausanne and Geneva), as well as to France
